Announcing the IUFRO Eight International Poplar Symposium (IPS VIII). “Poplars and Willows in the Era of Global Change: Agroforestry, Environmental Improvement, and Ecosystem Services to Enhance Livelihoods". October 4-6, 2022, Novi Sad Serbia.

The Institute of Lowland Forestry and Environment (ILFE) (formerly known as the Poplar Research Institute) from Novi Sad, Serbia is honored to host the IUFRO Eight International Poplar Symposium (IPS VIII): Poplars and Willows in the Era of Global Change: Agroforestry, Environmental Improvement, and Ecosystem Services to Enhance Livelihoods.

Unfortunately, due to the ongoing pandemic, the IPS VIII will be held virtually. Nevertheless, we will minimize the challenges of online conferences and provide opportunities for participants to present their work and network with one another.

We invite researchers and experts from universities, research institutions, government agencies and relevant industries to participate at the Symposium and welcome contributions in the following research topics:

  • Genetics, Genomics, Breeding and Conservation
  • Physiology and Ecophysiology
  • Pests, Diseases and Climate Change Impacts
  • Environmental Applications
  • Production Systems – From Traditional Plantations to Modern Agroforestry
  • New Bio Economics – Livelihoods, Ecosystem Services, Carbon Credits
